Wan-Chen McGuinness, a Taiwanese London-based contemporary dancer, aged 31 suffered fatal injuries in a tragic cycling accident in Holborn last month (24 Sep 08)
She had lived in London since 2007 and came to know a wide number of people through dancing for Cloud Dance, Sylvia Ferreira Dance Company, Katie Thies Dance Theatre and KorsnesKompani, and through classes at Laban and Greenwich Dance Agency.
She was working in a stock-taking job at the Natural History Museum, Kensington and was on her way home to Hackney, where she lived with husband William, when she was knocked from her bike by a lorry in Holborn.

I met Wan-Chen at CalArts and had the privilege to dance with her with Jessica Gaynor. Everyone was so impressed by her beautiful, fluid dancing. She quickly became loved by everyone in the dance department for her brilliant smile, her quirky sense of humor and her openness and friendship. She is sadly, sadly missed by all of us in the States. My heart goes out to her family and husband and friends that she made all over the world. We love you Wan-Chen.
