Akram Khan wins a South Bank Show Award

  - for his 2004 production Ma, premiered in Edinburgh and seen at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in November.

The winners were announced at the Savoy on 27 January and the ceremony will be broadcast on ITV1 on Sunday 30 January at 10.45pm.

The other nominees were Phoenix Dance at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, under new Artistic Director Darshan Singh Bhuller and Wayne Mcgregor for Ataxia with his company Random Dance, premiered at Sadler’s Wells.

Akram Khan is an Associate Artist of the South Bank Centre.
