Metis is an established physiotherapy practice that specialises in the treatment of musculoskeletal and sports injuries. The practice has a long history of treating dancers at all levels, with current clients from major ballet companies and a number of West End shows. 

Conveniently located around the UK, Metis has centres located in Croydon, Covent Garden and a third centre opening in Liverpool in late 2006.

The Metis Dance Medicine service offers:
A full assessment and injury screening by an experienced chartered and state-registered physiotherapist, combined with comprehensive physiological testing and exercise rehabilitation by an experienced sport scientist.

Treatment and rehabilitation programmes are designed in collaboration with the dancer to ensure the required choreography and technique is progressively introduced to minimise the chances of re-injury.
 
Access to X-ray, MRI and ultra-sound scanning techniques are available within 24 hours.

Additional services of massage, pilates (matwork & machine), osteopathy and personal training are also offered.

The Metis Physiotherapy and Active Rehabilitation Centre facilities include:
• An air-conditioned, state of the art rehabilitation gym with a ballet barre, mirrors and all relevant equipment, including a Pilates reformer.
• Five large, air-conditioned treatment rooms.
• Changing room facilities with showers and lockers.
• Multimedia touch screens to inform and educate dancers and dance students.

Opening Hours
Monday - Friday: 8am to 8pm
Saturday: 9am to 1pm

Metis is recognised by all major insurance providers, including BUPA and PPP.
Appointments do NOT require a GP referral and can be organised for same-day treatment
