It seems like with every year that passes there's more and more dance events, performances and festivals in London. Plan ahead with our new Dance Calendar, listing annual fixtures on the London dance scene. And if we've missed any - let us know!

London International Mime Festival

LIMF presents international visual theatre. In previous years the festival has presented some of the most distinguished names in its field: Jacques Lecoq, Bolek Polivka, Philippe Genty, Lindsay Kemp, Annie Fratellini, Jérôme Deschamps, Marcel Marceau and his company, as well as a new generation of performers like La Ribot, Compagnie 111, Josef Nadj, Licedei, Complicite, Phelim McDermot and Improbable Theatre.

Resolution!

Resolution! is The Place's annual new year open season for shorter dance works. Over 100 works will be presented in nightly changing triple bills. Each evening a triple bill of three dance companies appearing under one of three headings:
•    First Footing - brand new companies making their Resolution! debut
•    Evolution - companies returning to Resolution! with a new piece
•    Aerowaves - companies from other European countries performing in London for the first time

Constellation Change Screen Dance Festival

An International festival celebrating the art of dance on film. Each year, over 200 entries are submitted from around 24 countries, comprising Filmed Choreography, Innovative Works and Documentaries. Constellation Change Screen Dance Festival aims to showcase the shortlisted screenings and guest appearances at cinema venues in London.

Breakin' Convention

An International Festival of Hip Hop Dance Theatre. The festival showcases dance companies and artists from around the world. There is also a focus on education, with a comprehensive workshop programme led by artists from around the world; graff commissions; graff jams; DJ demos and freestyling; film screenings and lecture demonstrations.

Greenwich + Docklands International Festival

London's biggest free festival of open air spectacle and performance. In 2008 the festival became the UK's biggest commissioner of outdoor work. GDIF incorporates dance, circus, street theatre, and music.

Big Dance

Watch This Space
Watch This Space 2008Theatre Square, National Theatre

The National Theatre's free summer festival with a programme of British and international street theatre, bands, club nights, dance, cabaret and spectacle. For the summer months (when the weather holds off) Theatre Square in front of Denys Lasdun's iconic building on the South Bank becomes the fourth auditorium, where all sorts of surprises are waiting to happen.

"IDC" International Dance Connection

"IDC" International Dance Connection is the first Dance Showcase that gives dancers in the UK the opportunity to dance on stage with some of the best choreographers in the world. In addition dancers can work on a set  routine over a week and perform with real professionals from studios and TV shows such as "Debbie Reynolds" & "Millenium", "So you think you can dance" & "America's Best Dance Crew"

Place Prize
The inaugural Place Prize 2004 won by Rafael Bonachela for his duet 'E2 7SD'The Place

The Place Prize, sponsored by Bloomberg, is a choreography competition. It runs every two years, each time commissioning twenty UK-based choreographers to create new dance works to be performed at The Place in London. From these, five finalists are selected and, following further performances, an overall winner.
