Company policy
The art of ballet appeals to audiences of all ages. As one of the great classical ballet companies of the world, The Royal Ballet aims to be accessible to all through a rich and varied repertory. The Company's mission is threefold: to create new choreography, music and design; to provide a showcase for heritage repertory, and to breathe fresh life into the established classics making them relevant and exciting for today's audience. Alongside this, and vital to the future, the Company's outreach work with young people and adults throughout the country brings enlightenment, knowledge and enjoyment. The Royal Opera House has recently undergone major redevelopment. The newly built facilities have finally given the Company a permanent home at Covent Garden and allow the repertory to be broadened and more performances to be given. The activities of The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera are substantially supported by grants from the Arts Council of England. The Royal Opera House Development was supported by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of England
